How Our Journey Began
In 2010, founder Karre Marie began her natural hair journey during a challenging time in her life. After doing the Big Chop, she set out to embrace her natural curls.
“When I went natural, I dreamed of curls like Tracee Ellis Ross, but I didn’t know much about my hair texture. A texturizer damaged my hair, so I did another Big Chop and promised to love my natural hair just as it is,” says Karre.
In 2014, Karre noticed small gray patches on her scalp and skin. A dermatologist diagnosed her with eczema and scalp psoriasis, conditions that left her hair brittle and her scalp irritated. Medicated shampoos only worsened the dryness, so Karre searched for natural alternatives to soothe her scalp.
The results were transformative. Her scalp healed, her hair flourished, and people started asking about her secret. In 2015, she founded K’marie Hair Company, creating scalp products for people struggling with flakes, itch, and irritation. organic skincare routine.
