After going natural in 2010, Karre Marie, was going through a hard season in life and decided a change was needed. Like many people, she did the BIG CHOP.

"Okay; now let me say when I went natural I thought that I would have hair like Tracee Ellis Ross but, that wasn't the case. I knew nothing about being natural or the different hair textures. So I purchased a texturizer. Let's just say that didn't quite work out either and my hair began to break off. Which had me a little bit discouraged. So, I did the BIG CHOP again.

After the second big chop I made a vow to myself to embrace my natural hair texture. But my hair was dry and I couldn't understand why. I started collecting hair care products. I was a true product Junkie. In 2014 these small grey patches started showing up on my scalp and skin. Now you know that it had me really freaked out. So I went to the dermatologist. They informed me that I have eczema and scalp psoriasis. So once again I was discouraged.

The doctor prescribed me medications and medicated shampoos to help. But all it really did was dry my skin, scalp and hair. Which onset my hair to get so brittle that it would break. I was in no way about to do the big chop again. By this time my hair had grown past my shoulders. I started looking for natural alternatives to sooth my scalp without drying my hair. What I didn't expect was my major hair growth. I began getting lots of compliments & questions from clients and friends about what products I use on my hair, and that's when I decided to start my hair care line K'marie Hair Company" which offers dry scalp treatment.  In 2015 I began studying about scalp conditions like seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis and eczema. I realized that many of these conditions where being mistaken for or passed off as dandruff. It became my mission to create a line completely dedicated to flaky scalp. I began with scalp psoriasis treatment, then eczema scalp treatment and seborrheic dermatitis scalp treatment.  Our goal is to bring awareness about these and other flaky scalp conditions and one day create a cure so that no one will ever feel embarrassed or ashamed of their hair and scalp.
