In 2010, Karre Marie embraced a natural hair journey during a challenging season of her life, deciding a change was necessary. Like many others, she underwent the BIG CHOP.

Karre Marie, Owner & Creator, shares her experience: 

"When I went natural, I hoped for hair like Tracee Ellis Ross, but I didn't know much about natural hair or its textures. I tried using a texturizer, but it didn’t work, leading to hair breakage. This prompted me to do the BIG CHOP again. After that second chop, I vowed to embrace my natural hair texture. However, my hair was dry, and I couldn't understand why. I became a product junkie, trying numerous hair care products."

In 2014, Karre noticed small grey patches on her scalp and skin, which led her to a dermatologist. She was diagnosed with eczema and scalp psoriasis, leaving her discouraged. Despite prescriptions for medicated shampoos and treatments, her hair continued to become dry and brittle. Determined not to do another big chop, Karre began searching for natural alternatives that could soothe her scalp without drying her hair. Unexpectedly, this led to significant hair growth and compliments from friends and clients about her results.

In 2015, after learning more about scalp conditions like seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, and eczema, Karre founded K'marie Hair Company. The brand focuses on dry scalp treatments, aiming to bring awareness to flaky scalp conditions and develop solutions for those suffering from conditions often mistaken for dandruff. K'marie’s products include specialized treatments for scalp psoriasis, eczema, and seborrheic dermatitis, with a goal of helping people embrace their hair and scalp without shame or embarrassment.
